Connected public listings

ShelterScan includes published listings from multiple Dallas–Fort Worth organizations, including Dallas Animal Services, Denton Animal Services, Garland Animal Services, Arlington Animal Services, Irving Animal Services, and other connected sources shown in the live coverage directory.

Some organizations publish adoption animals, some publish shelter-held found or stray animals, and some publish both. Always open the original listing and contact the organization to confirm an animal's identity, location, custody, and current status.

Coverage is useful, not exhaustive

Not every DFW shelter, rescue, foster placement, offsite animal, private finder, or community report is connected. Public feeds can be delayed or temporarily unavailable, and some animals do not have usable photographs.

Search beyond the city where your pet disappeared

Animals can be taken across municipal and county boundaries. Use ShelterScan's distance controls, review the organizations included in your selection, and contact nearby agencies directly—even when they sit outside the first search radius.

  1. Use several clear photos showing the face, body, markings, and coat pattern.
  2. Repeat searches as shelters publish new intake photos.
  3. Review both found/stray and adoption listings.
  4. Confirm promising matches through the original shelter source.
  5. Continue flyers, microchip checks, neighborhood outreach, and in-person shelter contact.
